Russia harvests over 151 mln tns of grain, 99 mln tns of wheat
MOSCOW, Nov 28 (PRIME) -- Russian farmers have harvested more than 151 million tonnes of grain, including almost 99 million tonnes of wheat in bunker weight, from 98% of the sown area, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Tuesday at a meeting.
“The harvesting campaign is almost completed. Almost 98% of area under grain and leguminous crops were harvested. Over 151 million tonnes of grain in bunker weight were threshed, including almost 99 million tonnes of wheat,” he said.
He said that such results indicate that Russia will have the second largest harvest in history in 2023, which will allow it not only to cover its own needs, but also to send record volumes of grain to foreign partners.
Russia has already harvested 1.6 million tonnes of buckwheat in 2023 compared to 1.2 million tonnes last year, the minister said.
Gross rice harvest rose by 24% on the year exceeding 1.1 million tonnes, he also said.
